Consultation

Comprehensive initial assessments are used to initiate treatment. I ask patients to complete an evaluation form prior to our first meeting together. During our first meeting, we review a broad review of your symptoms, your history, and previous records. I may confer with other treatment providers such as therapists, primary care doctors, or psychiatrists or family members to gather additional info. We develop a biographical profile that looks at your habits, personality traits, environmental influences, and physical health to guide my initial treatment recommendations.

Services

Medication Management

Deciding whether to start, adjust, or stop medications can be challenging. Together, we’ll explore your values, needs, and thoughts around medications to make an informed choice that’s best for you. Medication doesn’t have to be a lifelong solution—it can serve as a temporary tool to get you through a tough time and help you better engage in self-care. My approach involves using medications at the lowest effective dose and only when appropriate and necessary. The frequency of medication management visits varies according to the acuity of the illness.I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Psychotherapy

I use methods derived from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength Based Psychotherapy, and Person-Centered Therapy in working with patients. Don’t get caught up in the terminology—the key thing to remember is that I begin the therapy process by truly listening to you and understanding your story. Together, we’ll focus on empowering you through increased awareness, insight, and the development of coping strategies.

Genetic Testing & Lab Analysis

Pharmacogenomic testing can be a valuable tool for assessing how medications may work for you. I can order and interpret genetic test results to help identify the medication that best addresses your specific needs. The test can be taken in-office or sent to your home, with a prepaid envelope for returning your DNA sample, which is collected through a simple cheek swab. The results will be sent directly to my office, where I’ll review them and go over the findings with you.

Nutraceuticals

Incorporating supplements and natural remedies into your treatment plan has been shown to support mental health and improve overall outcomes. In some cases, nutraceuticals may allow for a reduction in medication dosage. We’ll work together to explore these options and find the most effective approach tailored to your individual needs and goals.

Lifestyle Modifications

Even the most effective medication won’t make a difference if your sleep, nutrition, or exercise habits aren’t supporting your mental health. Changing habits can be tough, but I’m here to help you take small, manageable steps that will lead to big, positive changes.
