About Emma Brown
My dedication to the younger demographic led me first to earn my bachelors in psychology from Whittier College, Yale University to learn advanced psychiatric care, and then to SUNY Upstate Medical University for a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. At SUNY, I gained a deep understanding of the nuanced challenges faced by young minds and how to effectively address and support their unique needs.
My diverse experiences, training, supervision, and education—spanning my time at SUNY, my work in various clinical settings, and my advanced psychiatric training at Yale—have provided me with invaluable insights into the delicate balance of young psyches. These opportunities allowed me to develop a comprehensive approach to working with children, adolescents, and adults, taking into account the complexity of their mental health and well-being.
I have received specialty training in anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and OCD. What sets my practice apart is my multi-modal approach. By identifying and addressing barriers across key domains—individual, family, school, and community—I provide a comprehensive, 360-degree view of each person’s life. This holistic methodology consistently leads to more effective, personalized, and well-rounded therapeutic outcomes. I conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, create treatment plans, and prescribe conventional psychiatric medications and integrative treatments to individuals of all ages.
